Well, we received the lock up invoice yesterday and when we arrived at the site, we found that the Hebel which needs to be around the entrance door frame are not yet installed. After contacting our SS this morning, he said that the guys should have done it yesterday. But anyway, they should complete it today. We may need to drop by again today to see how it's going. Hopefully, they'll complete it by end of today as my inspector will conduct the pre-plaster inspection tomorrow.

Hebel almost complete, insulation in!
The Hebel is nearly finished except for a few areas of the house. Insulation went in as well yesterday and it's almost finished too. The yellow insulation is our R2.5 wall insulation and the greyish ones is the R2.5 sound insulation. We'll reach lockup very soon, hopefully, by end of this week. The plasters should go up next Tuesday and will take approx. 2 weeks. Until then, we'll have a fully plastered house and needless to say, we're pretty excited to see the real house growing up. :)

Hebel arrived and partly installed!
We went to the site yesterday and saw the Hebel panels were delivered and partly installed. Based on what my SS said, we should reach the lock up stage by end of next week. The electrical and plumbing works were already done in the house as well. Heating and cooling unit were also installed. Looks like we'll have the plaster in soon after we reach the lock up stage.
There is a small chip in here, shouldn't be a major issue.

So many defects in my frame inspection report!
Yesterday, we went through the frame inspection with both my independent inspector and my site supervisor. Unfortunately, there are so many things needs rectifying including the up-to-55mm frame overhang, missing braces, braces not properly secured, missing shear blocks, missing bolts, bolts not installed properly, etc. My site supervisor, who is a really nice guy to deal with, promises that all of the defects will be attended to this Saturday. Fingers crossed that everything will be properly fixed.
Besides these, there's also an issue with my double glazed windows in my master bedroom. The fixed panels of the windows are 4mm/10mm gap/4mm instead of the 6mm/8mm gap/4mm. I was just curios how can they manufacture different configuration of panels in the same window? I just need to wait and hear from my BC and SS.

Frame completed
Frame actually went up 5 days after the slab is poured, which is a good thing to have as I was previously told to have only 3 days interval only between slab and frame. More excitedly, it was completed within 1 week, a pretty good process. Also, it looks like some of the slab issues have been fixed but there are some problems with the frame especially the overhang issues which are up to 50mm in some places around garage. We'll wait and see how our independent inspector come up with after the inspection on this Thursday.

We have a slab!
Yesterday, the 14th of January 2014, we finally have our slab poured after a week of delay as a result of rainy weather in Melbourne. I wasn't really satisfied with the finish quality although my slab supervisor advised that these issues are just cosmetics only and will be sorted out as the build goes on.
